ATTENTION all members of the San Antonio Rugby Football Club,
As many of you know, our previous Club President, Mike Ray, had to step-down due to a job relocation. The Board of Directors (BOD), in concurrence with the current bylaws, elected Marcus Leming to assume the position of Presidential through the set remaining term. Marcus was serving in his eighth month of a two-year term as Director of Fundraising.
This message is to announce the vacancy and availability of the Director of Fundraising position. Whomever is elected to this position will be a voting BOD member for the remaining term of 1 year and 3 months, ending in June 2016.
The current Director of Fundraising's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1) Chairman of the Fundraising Committee
2) Set fundraising calendar annually
3) Set fundraising goal
The BOD reserves the right, per bylaws, to move a BOD member to another directorial responsibility if that member proves to have exceptional skill and experience in a certain area. Some form of proof (resume, portfolio, etc.) must be provided before such a move will be considered. Bottom-line: BOD members must be voted on at least every two years (based on set term-lengths), will have specific responsibilities to the club, and the BOD will make decisions based on what is in the club’s greatest interests.
Any member in good standing may either nominate themselves or be nominated by any other member in good standing. Good Standing means: full dues paid, or current with partial dues as set out by month-to-month plan, and be at least 18 years of age. Once all nominations have been made known, the BOD will vote on the position, as laid out in the bylaws. The person with the majority votes will be elected to the open BOD position. The BOD is planning to vote on this position at the next BOD meeting, on the first Wednesday of the month. Exact time and location will be posted on social media sources.
